You can usually take the buggy with you to the gate and demand it back the minute you step off the plane.

However I think you're only allowed the buggy and things that are physically attached to it (eg hood, cosytoes) - not sure if you can put it in a bag as it then becomes 'luggage' not 'a gate-checked stroller'.

Or you can put it in the bag (with as much other stuff as you like) and check it in as hold luggage, but this means you have to carry dd all the way round the airport.

Ring the airline and check their policy, or it may be on their webpage.

I can only speak for European flights but I took buggy bag ( empty ) and shoved under buggy and folded it with bag still under to pass security (also had bottom part of buggy snuggle on). I had used top part of b suggle to arrive at apt and had shoved them in pocket of case at airport and checked it in. Then at the gate I put buggy in bag with snuggle and they took it off me as I was boarding. The only thing was that they needed to check the security label that was on the buggy so on return we made sure that the label was on the top ( easy access)....Phew that was a bit long winded !
I honestly don't think anyone will question it as your buggy is free and you are just protecting it in the hold.
