Oooooh! Not been, but want to this summer - when are you going?

Ooh we went to the Watercress one and had a really good day out. The DCs loved the steam train ride and watching Thomas, Toby etc having races. It was all made quite exciting with whistles blowing and all the children waving flags and cheering. There was a Punch and Judy, a magic show and a huge bouncy slide to keep their interest in between and they had their photos taken with the Fat Controller who was very convincing I thought. The DCs got a Thomas 'passport' to keep which was stamped with the Watercress line logo and had spaces to collect more stamps if they went to any more Thomas days.

It was a few years ago that we went but I can still remember the day very clearly as it was such a success. The only low-point of the day was when ds spilt his orange Calippo all down my white top as we got off the train and I spent the rest of the day being chased by wasps!

Depends on age of kids (sorry haven't read all thread) - the watercress line IMO is a good one for slightly older ones - e.g. 5? as the actual train ride is quite long! We had a good time though, they did races between Thomas and Diesel which were a riot.

Enjoy it - DS1 was 3 on Tuesday and DS2 is 14mo.

Everything happens at Ropley so might be worth parking there. We went to Arelsford and there was a Percy ride but nothing else so had to get on the train to Ropley. Also, not much parking at Arelsford and Ropley has a big field to park in. DS aged 2.5 did enjoy it but we had been on the watercress line before so didn't bother going all the way to Alton.
