net bags or similar that go on the back of the front seats to hold children's books etc....

Up until now we've had a box in the middle of Ds and DS on the back seat with books and toys etc in it but now that DS is old enough to do his own seat belt, it is getting in his way.

I've seen some net bag things that fit over the headrest of the front seats.
Does anyone have any experience of these things please? Are they worth buying and if so is there anything I should like out for when trying to choose one?

TIA

I paid a whopping £10 each for a couple of these from Mothercare.

They do keep the back of the car seats from getting muddy footprints on them. But the net pockets have been pretty useless, and are no longer attached in the middle thanks to the children putting their feet in them.

My advice: avoid the Mothecare ones.

I bought one from Bettawear a few years ago. It had velco straps to fit around the head rest of the front seat and plenty of pockets and zip up bits too. If only you had asked this question a few months ago, you could have had mine, but its gone to the charity shop now! [not very helpful then, am I?]

thanks for the replies. I just checked the Betterware website but i can't find one on there, only a seat protector for when the little darlings kick out at the front seat.

Anyone else please??

Some (scroll down for 2 more) at GLTC , but you can probably find similar cheaper.

Bargain one at Tesco .

Looks good, jackieno.

I came back to say that when we were kids my mum made 3 big denim bags - sort of large carrier bags - with a selection of pockets on one side. For long journeys they were packed with our toys, spare clothes, whatever, and the pockets contained crayons, colouring books, and packets of refreshers! We loved those bags. Sadly long gone, though.

Not really worth the effort in the face of £3.97, though.

But much nicer to have something home made like that - nobody will remember the Tesco one when they're grown up (however practical they are), but you remember the ones your mum made.

I like the sound of your mum's ones purpleturtle but I'm going to be lazy and buy the GLTC one (the Tesco one doesn't look big enough for all the books that my two like to read in the car).
thanks for your help.
