DS has a cold - we're flying tomorrow - will we have to open sachets of calpol at security?

Says it all really - the advice from the airport is contradictory.

On the one hand, it says that here you can take calpol etc. through - then on this document, it says that medicines have to be verified.

I was going to take some sachets of Calpol and Nurofen (DS is sounding like a cross between Darth Vader and Lassie at the moment), but if I'm going to have to open them all to do a taste test, that'll defeat the object of the exercise!

Additionally, does anybody know if they sell Medised in the airside pharmacy at Heathrow? If they do, that'll be the solution, I think!

Nikki76, you can't get to your main luggage though can you??! IIRC these new measuers are because they "uncovered a plot" to smuggle liquid explosives on board or something but you actually have to do something with them, not just have them in your suitcase IYSWIM.

IMO they can do as many checks or regulations as they like to prevent terrorist attacks. And they do check large luggage. Try flying out of the USA without a regulation lock on your case and they will simply break the lock to check inside!Agree it is frustrating as they do keep changing the regulations.
