South of France campsites

I would be really grateful for recommendations for lovely campings in the South of France/Provence/Riviera ideally in a fixed tent/caravan. Proximity to a beach and onsite pool if possible. I've been looking online but don't know where to start! Thanks so much for any suggestions!

Le bois de valmarie if you have younger kids. Slightly quieter and less in your face than la sIrene and nicer area. Fly to perpignan.

Domaine de la Bergerie
Just outside Frejus which is equidistant between Nice and St Tropez. Fab site.

Les lacs du verdon or domaine du verdon or les sales sur verdon. In fact anywhere around the Verdon national parc and gorges it's amazing and turquoise lakes with amazing bike paths we go yearly

Prairies de la Mer near Port Grimaud. Right on the beach, walking access to Port Grimaud. It is mainly site owned accomodation but Al Fresco also have mobile homes there.

Stayed here last year - really lovely. Fantastic pool and water slides, site not too big, short drive to beaches (but pool area so nice we spent most of our time there), short drive to Hyeres and hypermarche etc.

Looking to go again next August. If you go last weekend of August it should be quieter and cheaper as french families end holidays then.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate these recommendations and am checking them out, one by one Smile it's been a long time since I did this type of holiday but I have a real yearning to do it again!

Piggy backing onto this thread shamelessly....can I ask did you all fly or drive there? And if you flew did you hire bikes out there?

sanitygirl · 24/08/2017 13:28

We took the Eurostar direct from London to Marseille then hired a car -was very easy and cheap and I would do it that way again

dameofdilemma · 24/08/2017 13:51

sanity - didn't realise you could take the ES direct, assumed you'd have to change onto the TGV at Paris or something. How long was the train journey? And was it from London or Folkestone?

sanitygirl · 24/08/2017 16:47

dameofdilemma direct from London St Pancras - takes around 6 hours on the way there, but longer on the way back as you have to get off at Lille for customs and passport control

dameofdilemma · 24/08/2017 16:57

sanity - thanks, thats really useful to know.
