FLORIDA weather

we are going to Florida next August, but looking a the weather reports it is STORM everyday, is there any sun at all? Anyone offer an experience?

It will probably rain most days, but it's not like uk rain! It'll be boiling hot and humid leading up to storm (usually in the afternoon) then you'll get 10 mins or so of torrential rain (still warm) and poas some thunder/lightening, then the sun will be straight back out and lovey and hot/sunny again, just without as much humidity. We used to welcome the afternoon storms in the summer!

It seems to float in, piss down and float out. It happens quite quickly.

I love the electrical storms in Florida...something free for the kids to watch plus the rain is hot

It will be bonkers hot and sunny for 90% of the day with about 30 mins, if that, of warm rain. Then the sun comes out again and everything dries out in about 15 minutes. The heat is more likely to be an issue than the rain if you aren't used to it.

We've been to Orlando a few times in August now, and we are just back from holiday where some of it was on the coast in Florida.

We had no rain at all for the 5 days we were at Fort Myers Beach this summer. When we arrived for 2 nights at Tampa just before there was rain. It was pretty heavy on our first morning - went to Busch gardens and bought ponchos as so heavy. However it was still warm - shorts and t shirt weather. And the rain dried up by lunch time and was warm thereafter, and hotter the next day.

We've been in the summer and had very little rain at all - just hot and humid. And other times where there has been some rain every other day or so - but it is short lived generally. You feel it building up - and can see it coming - and it arrives and pours down, torrential at times. And then 30-60 minutes later it is totally dry and hot again. Often we have looked forward to that downpour, just to cool down a bit! Even when we had a hurricane one year it only affected us for that day - the next day the parks opened an hour later, but that was it.

We went in August last year and TBH I won't go in this month again. Yes it is warm rain, and was very hot generally. BUT it spoiled a lot of our fun in the parks. It wasn't always just a quick shower. Two or three days the rain arrived at lunchtime and didn't go! So when the lightning comes, and that's regular, they close the rides for safety obviously. So you're walking round the theme parks with wet feet waiting for them to open the attractions again.
We'd go around April though like we did the year before. That was fab weather and minor storms.

I'm here now. Halfway through our holiday.
We have seen torrential rain storms twice in 7 days

Very localised and stays hot so it's not awful.

It's also very very sunny and hot.

Its very localised, it could be raining in universal and not in Disney! We have just got back, it did rain but it didn't stop us!
