New island for us and although we normally go with friends it might be just me and 2 teens next year. We do like quieter resorts but they won't have a crowd with them to bounce off and don't want to be 'stick with each other' (boy:girl). They also want it quiet enough that they can go out and about safely but not too quiet that there's nothing to do. My ds dies disappear at times to play Xbox/PS4 inna wee arcade and that's about it for a Brits abroad type holiday. Requirements are 2 bedroom (1 at a push) apartment, basic but clean (on a budget!) close to a sandy beach and resort. Too much moaning if there's too far a walk!
Have looked at Tsilivi, Kalamaki and Alykanes. Think Tsilivi might be too busy, Kalamaki too much plane noise and am worried that Alykanes might be too quiet!! Can anyone help?!! Please? Parakalo?!!

We came back from Kalamaki 3 weeks ago. The only noise we had was from water bombing planes putting out bush fires in the hills. Nothing really from the airport.

Alykanes is good. Have bedn there a few times - there is a cute little riad train tgat takes you up the hills to a museum abd restaurant which is a lovely little trip to pass the time . Oh and be sure to check out the Mill Bar - it has a pool you can use and Julie and Spiros are great hosts.

We are in Alykanas at the moment, it's quite lively until around 1130 ish. Feels very safe. Really nice beach. Small arcade in village I know off and may be more in Alykes about a 20 min walk.
DP says console games in the Dilemma Bar.

Stayed in Kalamaki many years ago and it's true the planes do fly low overhead. However they don't fly at night so it wasn't a problem.
I've been to Tsilivi with older teens and it was ideal. Plenty of lovely restaurants, family bars with entertainment and a lovely shelving beach with water sports. I wouldn't suggest it to someone wanting a cultural Greek experience but it sounds like it ticks your boxes.

Thanks everyone! Problem
Is I do want a cultural
Greek experience but need to keep the kids happy so hoping for a happy medium!! Smile They do eat Greek food and weren't keen on Malia when we went through it on the happy train from Stallis a few years ago!

I know what you mean. My idea of a perfect Greek holiday is a tiny village with a couple of tavernas. That's what DH and I did before DC.
Happy kids=happy holidays though so I always book with that in mind.
I don't think Tsilivi is anything like Malia though, that would be the party resort of Laganas .
Dozens of great Greek restaurants in tsilivi and kalamaki and safe enough for younger teens.
