Anyone has taken a Bugaboo Bee3 on a British Airways flight?

We are travelling within Europe in August. According to the BA website, we are allowed a stroller that is no bigger than 46in x 15in x 15in when collapsed. Our stroller is a Bugaboo Bee3, which is very light and compact and is only 3 inches bigger in one dimension - it is 35in x 18in x 12in when collapsed.

Does anyone have any experiences with the Bee on a plane? Would they take it at the gate? Is it likely to get damaged? If so, do we need one of those travel bags? They are a bit pricey so I'd rather avoid the expense.

Don't know about this specific model but we took our Phil and Ted double on a flight earlier this year, with Thomson. We did buy a buggy travel bag but got it pretty cheap off Amazon and I would definitely recommend this - we took a small buggy a few years ago without a bag and it got bashed up a lot.

They are likely to take it off you at the gate. We have a holiday buggy with a travel bag after our icandy got damaged on a flight, don't know what I was thinking in retrospect!

Thank you both!!

I have indeed read some horror stories about buggies being bashed up during transport. I'll check out travel bags on Amazon, hadn't thought about it! If I don't find something cheap, I'm tempted to travel only with a sling and buy a very cheap stroller when we get there... We are visiting my parents so they could maybe keep it there for future use.

I've taken my bee on a plane lots of times. They've taken it off me at the gate. Haven't used a bag and it's not been damaged.

Irrespective of what you do re stroller id definitely take a sling as you won't get your buggy back til the baggage carousel at most airports.

Thanks! I'll risk taking the Bee (plus a baby carrier) and see what happens.
