Sun block or insect repellent first?

When going to a hot country that has a reputation for mosquitoes & nits, what goes on first? Sun block over insect repellent, or the other way round? Thinking like, if you put for arguments sake, the repellent over the sun block, then the sun block wouldn't work? Or sun block over the repellent, get eaten alive as the sun block is covering the repellent? Or perhaps the mosquitoes/nits wont like the taste of sun block, so just use that?

Sunblock should always be put on clean, dry skin. Anything else goes on once that's been absorbed and dried in.

As above -sun block first & give it time to dry. (Apologies if you know this), if you're using something with deet then you shouldn't use more than a 30% repellant on a child and be careful not to get it near their mouths, eyes etc.

Thanks for that. As for Deet, yes as its well recommended. No children, only me and hubby.

I was told by the tropical diseases doctor in a major hospital to put on sun block,leave it for 30 mins & then put on insect repellent
in reality we only used the repellent from 4pm onwards

Yes, seems the pests like to come out evenings. Especially in Turkey!
