Cheap places to stay in Copenhagen

Any hints and tips? We've got a wedding to attend over the August Bank Holiday and costs for any sort of accommodation, even hostels, seems astronomical.

It was expensive! Have you tried Airbnb?

Second airbnb! We stayed an a fab apartment close to city centre... much more reasonable than hotel x

We stayed on a boat hotel, five years ago, called CPH Living. Simple but well-appointed, free brekky and a roof terrace. I can't recall the price but it was definitely affordable for a weekend break.

I've not had a detailed look on Airbnb. We'll be arriving at an unsociable hour which always makes me feel a bit awkward with Airbnb places.

The prices just astound me though, the first recommended place on expedia was +300 a night. I always think how do you extract that much value out of a hotel room in 1 day?

CPH Living already sold out ChoccyJules.

Loads of lovely airbnb options. All easy to get to on public transport. The marriott bella sky is amazing to stay in and close to the airport but not cheap. We booked direct with them and got a good rate. I lI've copenhagen!

We stayed in the Ibsen hotel. It was great and certainly not £300 a night.

I don't even care for Copenhagen particularly, but is a family wedding so cannot choose a different destination.

A last minute cancellation, means we didn't get much notice and with it being a bank holiday weekend lots of places appear to be sold out already.

Wondering if there's any savings to be made if we book a citybreak, as we've not sorted our flights out yet.

British Airways sometimes do good packages.
When a went we used a Radisson 'friends and family' rate which was 60 Euro (fir the one by the airport). You can usually find a code even if you don't have a real friend/family link by looking on flyertalk

I have stayed here www.wakeupcopenhagen.com/#/search. It's very close to Kongens Nytorv so very central.

Have you looked at the Generator Hostel? It's cheap but very clean and funky; may as well have been a hotel for all the difference I noticed!

bingohandjob · 08/07/2017 09:39

I stayed in City Hotel Nebo - very cheap for Copenhagen. Very, very basic hostel like rooms, very clean, safe, friendly and perfect for what I needed and less than 5 minute walk from central train station.

And it's right by Tivoli Gardens which I was not keen on going to at all at first but I BLOODY loved spending a warm, sunny evening there strolling about. I just paid for basic entrance then bought a token to go on the balloon Ferris wheel and it was delightful. Sat and watched a show, listened to a band, watched fireworks. I loved Copenhagen.

We stayed in a private room at the Generator Hostel - great central location, more like a hotel than a hostel with great food and communal areas! Decent price, too. Would highly recommend!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Change of plans means we're going to fly into west of Denmark and stay with family and only go to Copenhagen for the day and stay one night and managed to book into the Ibsen so all sorted.
