Holiday clubs

My two DS's are 5 and 3. I'm due with DS3 on 1 August. Needless to say we have no summer holiday planned.

I'm keeping the 3 year old in daycare nursery (4 half days a week). I'd like the 5 year old to be in a camp most days (mon-thurs). There is a lot of choice around me (I live in London in nappy valley). My question is...how much do I need to mix things up? This is our first summer holiday since starting school so it's all new to me. Will it be deathly boring to him to do the same thing every day e.g. two weeks in a row?

I know much of this depends on the child/the summer camp but if you could share your experiences that would help me decide!! Thanks Smile xx

Do you think you're 5yo will have the energy for club for 4 days a week? All kids are different but mine was knackered at that age after a year of school and just wanted to chill in the summer.

I agree it depends on their temperament and energy. My 6 and 4 year olds would have the energy for holiday club 4 days a week no problem. They would want things mixed up a bit though, yes. Not much tires them. Absolutely not a stealth boast! Chilling here means fighting, trashing my house and being bored and is only successful if they are kept very busy at other times.

Other children I know would never manage that.

Rainbow I totally know what you mean!! And with a newborn I just don't think I'll have the stomach for it Confused he really needs entertaining and is used to long days at breakfast/afterschool club so a school hour long day of activities would probably suit him just fine.

Do many clubs need lots of advance notice? A football club I once went to seemed to have loads of kids just show up on the day.
