Holiday ideas aboard for a young family?

We want to book our 2018 holiday. It will be for a family of 4. 2 adults and one nearly 4 year old and an 18month old. We have a budget of £3500 for between 7 and 10 days. It must be in the school holidays as I am a teacher but doesn't matter exactly when.
Ideal- beach and a kids pool/family friendly. I really really don't want a rammed resort with a very British feel. Would like to feel like I've gone abroad. Short or long haul. Desperate for ideas as I e never taken both kids abroad!

Villa with a pool and hire car works best for us. I also take a cheap paddling pool.

Algarve and greece my recommendation. May half term great weather and quiet

Valamar Isabella island resort, Porec, Croatia

Melia Dunas resort in Cape Verde.
We went with our three year old and loved it!
Not super rammed as lots of guests from other countries, 7 pools including a kiddie pool, two bed apartments with a living area so you can out the kids to bed and stay up, all inclusive with lots of kid friendly food, practically guaranteed sunshine but as it's an island there is always a breeze so it doesn't get too hot.
Wholeheartedly recommend it!

Majorca! Puerto Pollensa is ideal for families - there's a really long stretch of sandy coastline, where the sea is quite shallow for quite a way out. Lots of restaurants and activities for children. Pollensa town is a few miles inland and is absolutely lovely, with a fantastic Sunday market. Alcudia old town is also lovely, although Puerto Alcudia has (I think) a bit more of a 'British' feel to it than Puerto Pollensa.

We've always done villas with our own pool, which meant when the kids were younger, we could relax in a living area when they'd gone to bed.

Thank you all! I am going to look them all up and have a nosey at prices :)

Kefalonia sounds what you are looking for

Do you want somewhere hot? We went on several holudays in Scandanavia/Northern Europe when we had small children - mostly because they didn't tolerate heat very well.

I can recommend several places in Denmark, Netherlands, Belgium.

Ideally, as generally heat and sun go together and it's the sun we want. Snow is fine but as long as it's sunny just to break up the typical greyness of the UK

You have enough for a cheap cruise. Costa have one from Venice down to Greece with a balcony for £849 per adult. The advantage is there is enough routine for the little ones but a different place to visit everyday for you guys. And it's AI so you don't waste food money.
