Where can I take my Mum?

My sister and I always take my mum to London a couple of times a year. In a couple of weeks we are going again and have matinee tickets to see Beautiful. Originally the plan was to go to the Sky Gardens first and have a quick lunch. Unfortunately, when I tried to book there were no tickets left and the Bistro there has a special function on so can't book that either. Does anyone have any suggestions of where we could take my mum to kill a few hours before the show?

If the weather is nice, you could try Kensington roof Gardens - I haven't been but it does look lovely!

There are the ones at Canary Wharf as well and then you can choose from a number of restaurants

I'm embarrassed to say that I worked in Canary Wharf until about 4 years ago and had no idea there were roof gardens! Will take a look, thank you. I did wonder about the Kensington Roof Gardens as they look lovely. Just need to work out if we have enough time to get from St Pancras to one of the gardens, have lunch then get over to the theatre!

Kensington Roof Gardens is marginally posh (linen tables at lunch). There is a view of South London (we watched the rain clouds hurl themselves in!). It was fun to explore the gardens (we'd taken our DD who was probably 5 or 6 at the time...she wasn't expecting flamingos and ducks!).

Kensington roof gardens is nice bit check that the gardens are open on that day they ate often closed for weddings although the restaurant is still good and reasonable price. Last time I went Ricky Gervais was on next table
