Gestational Diabetes

Hello does anybody know if you get diagnosed with gestational diabetes if the midwife will then let me have a fit to fly note? I am just worried because I have the diabetes test a week before I fly. I will be 29 weeks when I fly. Thank you.

I think you would need a doctor's certificate saying you were safe to fly. I had gestational diabetes and flew but I wasn't as far gone as you are. But I did need a certificate and approval from my travel insurance (so you should check that out too).

I flew long haul at 30 weeks and short haul at 36 weeks; the fact that I had GD didn't come up when I got my fit to fly notes. I can't see why it would be an issue.

GD affects people on a spectrum, it would depend on you personally.

You'll probably be fine to fly :)

That makes me feel more relexed, there is no reason why I would have GD but I'm just panacking after paying for the holiday, And I didn't realise about the fit to fly note before I booked, thank you
