What's included with a basic Ryanair flight?

Sorry for sounding stupid but what exactly is included if you buy a Ryanair flight without any extras-I'm booking a surprise trip from Ireland to Liverpool for my family for 3 nights but as I've never booked any sort of holiday before I've no idea how the flight side of things works and I can't ask anyone as then it would spoil the surprise! Blush

Any help would be gratefully appreciated so that I know what I need to book! 😅

How funny....I came on here tonight to ask exactly the same question!!
I'm thinking of going to Italy for 2 weeks with teenage daughter so guessing booking one bag for hold would be an idea? I have no idea what 10 kgs means!

I don't get the booking in thing....do I need to buy it to stop the booking at airport?

tich as a mother of 2 teenage daughters I would agree that one checked in case would be a good idea for 2 weeks. You still get the hand luggage allowance each. 10 kg each is fine for a week in warm/hot weather, but not a lot for 2 weeks unless you can wash clothes there. Another benefit is that cosmetics, sun cream etc can be packed in the hold luggage, rather than in 100ml bottles in hand luggage.

You don't have to pay extra to check in online, but check in 4 days before to have the best chance of sitting next to each other.

tich I would definitely book one hold bag. As Ony says, you can then put all your liquids in your case and not worry about staying under the limit for hand luggage. Also so you can take enough clothes to not have to bother with washing on holiday.

Makes the airport experience and security easier too as you don't need to be dragging a 10 kg wheelie case through the airport and take your liquids bag out of your main bag. You can take a smaller carry on bag and just have the things you need for your flight plus things like tablets/cameras that you don't want to check in.

All the people who advocate hand luggage only are often making things difficult for themselves and don't necessarily save as much money as they think, as they then need to shop for toiletries at the airport or abroad which can be much more expensive, you might not find the brands you like, and you can't bring the big bottles back so have to waste them.

It also means you don't have space to bring any cheap booze or whatever back with you, you might have to do washing on holiday, which is a bore and you have to fight for you space in the lockers with your big carry on bag.
