Me and the missus have had a time of it recently with DS (illness) and we have decided that we are going to cane the credit card and stay somewhere lovely that offers a bit of childcare (1 year old)so we can go for supper every now and again.

Will look at anything - we're also both french speakers, if that makes any difference...

Any suggestions?

I got an impeccably welcoming and friendly reply to an enquiry once from the Chateau de Tilques near St Omer MrShev.
I am not sure if they do childcare as our card was already caned to the extent that we didn't stay there, but it might be worth investigating.

Try this

Description:

Local Airport: Bergerac 50 mins
Rural location with stunning views
Enclosed swimming pool
Tennis Court
English speaking babysitting available
Homecooked food available

This gorgeous two bedroomed stone farmhouse is a great place for a family of four or five to spend their holidays. The furniture and fittings are beautifully chosen to give this gite a 'Country Living' feel that will appeal to people who love all things classically French. Antique furniture, toile de joue fabric at the windows, large inglenook fireplace and oak floorboards combined with the essentials of family life, go towards making this gite a very special place to spend your holiday.

The two bedrooms are carefully decorated and retain much of their orginal character. The master bedroom has an antique French king size double bed with a dresser and inset sink. The spacious second bedroom has an antique double and a single bed for maximum flexibility. Cots can be added where necessary.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything that you would expect for modern living (fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher). The bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower too.

The comfortable sitting room, once again beautifully decorated, retains the original Inglenook fireplace and has French doors that lead onto the terrace outside making it an ideal room for spring, summer or autumn.

Outside
La Loge Rose is notable for its stunning views over the valley. These can be enjoyed from the raised terrace, accessible via the sitting room or from the patio adjacent to the house. Either way, you have a choice of private spaces in which to eat or simply to enjoy a glass of wine and the peace and quiet. The raised terrace has a stairgate to ensure that little ones are prevented from falling.

The large patio is equipped with garden furniture, a built-in BBQ and pear trees line a small stone wall. The garden has spectaular views across fields and the valley. In the distance one can see a small chateau and there is parking for one or two cars.

Try the Hotel Normandie Barriere in Deauville - we had a great stay there with 2yo dts.

The place you found is on this website - saw it in Junior today. May be worth a look.
