Any resort/hotel recommendations for Antigua, please?

DH and I looking to go in late September. No DC to worry about , but not especially interested in adults-only either.

I've found several hotels that look interesting on the BA website - and they seem to fly direct (unlike Virgin, who I would prefer to fly with), but I know nothing about the island and where it's best to stay.

Any previous experiences - good or bad - gratefully received!

Just want to report back here, for anyone still interested. We chose The Verandah in the end, and it was really great.

A lovely estate of villas dotted around, with great planting in between the villas. Much nicer than a several storey hotel building.

Despite what's been posted here, and also on Tripadvisor, the staff were fantastic and the food was great.

I'd definitely recommend.
