Am meeting up with my mum in London soon and want to have a lovely, special afternoon tea. Something quite luxurious and traditional but don't know if by thinking of the obvious places (basically first page of google) I'm missing out on a little diamond! I've been to Claridges and the Langham in the past and loved both- Claridges more so I think -my mum has been to neither and want to pick somewhere amazing for her. Thanks BrewCakeSmile

A smaller venue is Mews of Mayfair, I had a lovely afternoon tea with unlimited champagneShockGrinwith some friends, they were very attentive and it felt nice and intimate. They do offers sometimes.

Ting at the Shangri la hotel, the shard is fab. Been a couple of times and the view is amazing. You can get traditional afternoon tea or an Asian version. We have one of each and share. Loads of extra sandwiches and scones offered. Ask for a window table when booking.

Harvey Nics aft tea is always amazing and a bit of a twist on the usual hotel offering.

We went Good Friday to Royal Horseguard Hotel. Afternoon tea was £39/person with unlimited tea and offers to replenish sandwiches.

They also do a children tea with sweet sandwiches (nutella, peanut butter, jam and ham) plus nice cakes and the usual scones.

Bit more relaxed, not too formal but very nice.
