I was thinking about taking some specific snacks (certain cereal bars/biscuits) for the kids in my hold luggage for whilst we are out there but have been told (by someone who's never been) that you can't take food with you to America (Disney). Is that correct?

If you like tea then take your own tea bags as they don't do tea well. Not what you're asking I realise but important if you like tea.

The customs form asks you if you have food. Declare it - don't try to sneak it through. When you hand the form in when leaving the baggage collection area they will ask you what you have. I've been through many times with cereal bars and English chocolate for friends living over there. As others have said, packaged stuff is generally fine, fresh food isn't.

Definitely take tea and sudafed in case you get a cold as you can't buy it there without American ID
