Maldives for a week?

Have found an amazing hotel which works out at £4800 or so for 7 nights in an over water villa all inclusive.
My husband has always dreamed of this, and it's a big birthday for him in the next year so would be incredible to do.
Is it worth the money, just to tick it off his bucket list?
It was too expensive for our honeymoon as we wanted two weeks, and I can't sit still for that long.
I earn a healthy wage so tempted to save up and surprise him.

Another Maldives fan here, we have been 11 times to a variety of islands. I agree with those who say it really helps if you enjoy snorkelling as there is so much to see. Getting a direct flight is useful, particularly if you are only going for a week, but at the monent only BA do them and only November-March. Similarly for a week, an island fairly close to the airport island is a good idea, hanging around for the sea plane can take up half the day, though the flight is good fun.

Get advice from the Trip Advisor Maldives Forum, they are a friendly bunch on there, and as islands vary so much it is well worth asking for suggestions.

When you have decided, get quotes from various agents; we use TravelBag a lot, also Purely Maldives and Simply Maldives are very good. You might find that they can help you stretch to two weeks.

Finally, try to get a seat on the left hand side of the plane for the best views of the atolls as you approach your destination.

Yes lovely. Good. Price too. Will be expensive if not all inclusive.

We've been to the Maldives twice, once for a week and once for 10 days. A week was perfect for us, we were starting to get a little bored on the 10 day one but then we don't normally ever do beach holidays.
Book an airplane transfer to the island if you can, we went out to one on the speedboat and I was feeling very queasy by the end. I don't get seasick normally but the combination of the fumes, the bouncing and the jet lag were not good.
We stayed in an overwater bungalow for our honeymoon, it was absolutely stunning.
