Disneyland Paris advice

LilyRose22 · 17/02/2017 12:20

I'm looking to take family to Disneyland Paris (me, DH, DD4 and DD2.
I want to avoid school holidays (UK and France).
Plan would be to drive from northern U.K. To London and get Eurostar with our car.

Any tips on dates (June ish?)
I don't want to spend more than £2000 total but would like to stay overnight somewhere close to U.K. Eurostar and then in one of the close hotels at Disney, probably 3 days in the park (is that enough / too long?)
Any recommendations for hotels?
Would I be better booking through a company who sort out Eurostar/ hotel / tickets (any recommendations?) or should I book individually myself?
Thanks in advance

You don't need a car full of stuff for ages nights at Disneyland seriously.

If you stay 3 nights or more look at annual passes (check black out dates) as they are cheaper.

With annual passes you get extra magic hours, discounts in all shops and all restaurants.

Look at staying at one of the off site hotels. Cheaper than Disney and some are closer than the Disney hotels. All run free shuttle buses into the parks. Most are apartment style so separate bedrooms and lounges. Supermarket nearby so you can get snacks and drinks to take with you and have a good breakfast before you go.

We did DLP with 4 of us, inc a 4 and a 2 year old, on hand luggage only. You don't need to take lots of stuff with you.

We've driven with young DC but ferry instead of Euro tunnel.
Had long drive (with lots of stops) and stayed in premier inn (around £40 for family room). Then next morning got ferry (kids have loved the ferry). 3 hour drive to DLP.

Stayed in Davy Crockett ranch (this has fabulous pool). We've then driven to the parks each day (5 min drive), you get parking included with tickets.

Found Davy Crockett great with small DC as it's a log cabin so self catering, we had breakfast there so no stress of restaurant for breakfast. You can also have some meals there too to cut costs.

We did do swimming aswel as when they are younger a few hours in the parks was a bit overwhelming so was nice to come back to the cabin, have something to eat/rest then go swimming.

Also, if it's the princesses you are going for, the only times you really see them without meeting them is the parade.

Another thing to remember if you're booking online for lots of these things is to go through a cashback site.

If you're spending several hundreds on travel, accommodation and passes it can add up especially if you manage to book when the cashback is on special offer. You can often get 12% back which if you're buying 3 or 4 nights accommodation plus tickets for 4 can soon mount up.
Plus it can be cheaper to book through a different country's DLP site - check out the prices online, screenshot, then ring the main DLP line and they are supposed to honour it according to one of the TV money saving programmes.
