user1486164258 · 03/02/2017 23:51

The hotel is safe and my room is on the same floor as them (possibly next to them), plus continuous monitoring. (two monitors and a phone)

Ages: 8

Thank you!

No.

amysmummy12345 · 03/02/2017 23:52

Nope

PiratePointyTits · 03/02/2017 23:57

In case of fire would be my main worry as well as one of them waking, leaving the room in search of me and getting disorientated especially if it was big hotel where all the doors and corridors look similar.

And them buggering about rather than sleeping.

So no from me too.

tribpot · 03/02/2017 23:59

Nope

muhajaba · 04/02/2017 00:00

I would do it, especially if you have a room next door.

Godotsarrived · 04/02/2017 00:01

Absolutely not. Just no. Get a triple room or a layzee bed put in the room and all sleep together.

Mistletoekids · 04/02/2017 00:03

If Rooms have adjoining doors yes

Otherwise suite? may be cheaper than 2 doubles anyway

MrsBlennerhassett · 04/02/2017 00:04

if it was a connecting room then yes. Many hotels have these you should ask!
Id consider a room next door but i dont think id do it if it were just same floor no.

PebbleInTheMoonlight · 04/02/2017 00:04

No. If I couldn't get a family room and two rooms was my only option my husband and I would take a child each and have twin rooms.

Way too many things that could go wrong, including them putting the deadlock on so you can't go in to help/discipline/check on them

Comfortzone · 04/02/2017 00:06

No. no. No. Are you for real? McCann story ring any bells?

Marmitelover55 · 04/02/2017 00:07

Family room!?

muhajaba · 04/02/2017 00:13

comfortzone they left a door unlocked...it's really quite a different situation IMO anyways

Absolutely not. Why can't you get a family room?

puckingfixies · 04/02/2017 00:16

no, suite or holiday cottage with two bedrooms.

puckingfixies · 04/02/2017 00:18

or a responsible adult to babysit

PointlessUsername · 04/02/2017 00:21

I wouldn't No.

amysmummy12345 · 04/02/2017 07:43

Just to be constructive, if there's two adults and two children could you not split so one adult, one child in one room and the same in the other?

JennyOnAPlate · 04/02/2017 07:47

No way in hell. I'd be very surprised if the hotel would allow it.

Cat2014 · 04/02/2017 07:49

I would and ds has slept In a room with 2 other children when on a sports trip (coach either side)

annandale · 04/02/2017 07:50

Did it at 12 next door, not at 8, sorry. The chances are it would be ok but there's too many negative possibilities at that age. I'd go for something else.

VintagePerfumista · 04/02/2017 07:51

The OP said "my" room, not "our" room, so maybe she is travelling alone.

Calling her "mental" is totally uncalled for, and so is any kind of comparison with the McCanns. Who left their child alone in a villa, which the OP has not said she intends to do.

That said, the hotel probably wouldn't allow it, for the simple reason that other guests may well complain about the utter chaos that 2 children would probably cause left in a room on their own.

I'd go for a family room too if it were available.

GavelRavel · 04/02/2017 07:51

we were given 2 separate rooms in a ski chalet last year, next door, hotel.seemed fine with it. was meant to be 8 and 5y old in together. We put an adult.and child in each room as the balconies were high up. I'd let a 10/11/12y old do this, but not 2 8y olds - too much scope for them.doimg silly things or wandering off.

Sirzy · 04/02/2017 07:54

No 8 is too young

LittleBearPad · 04/02/2017 07:54

No, if the rooms connect them yes but otherwise no.
