I keep posting but it's because I don't know what I am doing! So we have a full board plus meal plan. We are there for 3 dinners and 3 lunches. Breakfast is sorted at the hotel (I presume?!) so one day we are doing auberge de cendrillon for lunch. That's all that is planned at the moment Also going to book lunch or dinner with Mickey etc at Café Mickey - any suggestion whether lunch or dinner would be better? The only other two places I want to eat at are Café Agrabah and Chez de Remy. Has anyone eaten at these and are they any good? Any other recommendations? thanks so much

Dreams changes times each day. It starts at the time disneyland park shuts that day.
If you can't get to the front for this show. Walk away from the castle and cross towards Main Street. There is a little 'roundabout type thing' with a kerb. I think there is a small fence around some plants on there too. If you stand on the edge of the kerb, closest to the castle, you'll have a slightly raised view point. Please don't clamber all over the flower beds though, it drives me crazy that people do this. It also drives me crazy that people, who are at the very front, still deem it necessary to put their kids on their bloody shoulders!
You'll also want to make use of the fast passes. At rope drop in the main park, make a beeline for big thunder mountain. You'll want to get a fast pass for this. Once you've got this, go towards Peter pans flight in fantasyland. This is ridiculously busy, if joining the queue for this doesn't mean you'll lose your fast pass for BTM, join it. If it's already manic, go to pirates of the Caribbean (if it has reopened at the time you visit). The queue moves continually so you should easily be able to ride this before your BTM slot. Maybe Indiana Jones too! Just don't miss your time slot. BTM is my absolute favourite (if you can't tell).
In the Studios, you'll have to make a choice. Crushs coaster is super popular and there is no fast pass option. We've been there as soon as the gates opened and by the time we'd got to the ride, the queue was 45 minutes( it can and regularly does, reache over 100 minutes). So you can either run here and reduce a lot of queue time (hopefully) then sprint to ratatouille to get a fast pass (hoping they haven't steady run out). Or get your fast pass for ratatouille and hope you can queue for crush and get back in time for your slot. These two rides are busy ALL day.
Tower or Tower is a must, and queues can build for this, but normally, no where near as horrific as the aforementioned rides.
We're going for the 25th anniversary day on the 12th April. I'm so excited! We've been more times than my husband is comfortable with, but I can honestly say, with some planning, it is such a magical holiday. Even if you're not taking kids! (By the way there is s lovely cocktail bar in the Disneyland Hotel for the grown ups).
It's expensive, there's no getting around that. But no more expensive, than if you were to go to Alton Towers for a few days. Theme park food, is theme park food. Expensive! As are souvenirs, but they're Disney souvenirsSmile

racheyc · 02/02/2017 19:59

Wow thanks 2ducks, very detailed! Should I expect it to be manically busy when we go, beginning of March? I am getting a little worried now! How much fun is Crush's coaster?

It shouldn't be too bad, I don't think. The French will be off over Easter which is April, I don't know if they have a half term type break before that.
Where are you staying? How long for? Are you taking children?

Obviously weekends will be busier than weekdays as the French will still pop over for day trips.

racheyc · 02/02/2017 20:04

Staying in the hotel new York, yes taking 3 yr old ds and 4 yr old dd., going Sunday to Wednesday, did try and book out of half terms

Crush's Coaster is great! Much faster than you'd think it would be. There is a height restriction on this ride which is higher than that of tower of terror.

2ducks2ducklings · 02/02/2017 20:08

Fab!
You can walk to the parks then, the shuttle buses are hell!
Your kids will probably want to do the character meet and greets then? On the programmes each day, it should tell you when they will be out and about. Queuing is not a speciality if any nationality when it comes to characters! Usually the cast members can tell who has been waiting patiently though. As you have your meal deals, you could avoid some of this madness by going to inventions for main cuddly characters and Auberge for the princesses. There's also meet Mickey Mouse and princess pavilion. I've never does these as my kids say they're too big to queue with me! But these are super busy too, so if these are high on you wish list, you may want to head here first rather than BTM.

racheyc · 02/02/2017 20:09

I know I don't think my son is going to reach that which is annoying! He is 99 cm now so he has to grow by a 1.07cm in 5 weeks!

racheyc · 02/02/2017 20:10

Thanks I will have to sit down with my husband and plan everything out properly, make sure we try not to miss any of the good stuff!

OP posts:
2ducks2ducklings · 02/02/2017 20:12

Buy Vans pumps, or buy walking boots. We spent ages buying the right show to make my son 'grow' enough for thunder mountain! Obviously I wouldn't do this on an upside down ride etc. and tower of terror can be quite scary for me little ones. But, as you'll sit right by them on thunder mountain, we did this Blush

racheyc · 02/02/2017 20:14

Haha great idea! Will have to get experimenting! I need him to come on the rides, he will love them!

We were there last week - was busier than I expected
We were fb plus
Avoid buffet if at all possible but if you do use make sure you have hand sanitiser - some people have more questionable hygiene and they are also using the serving implements
Due to dodgy tummys after one buffet we stuck to table service

We ate in chez remy twice and it was our favourite food was lovely and the service fantastic- waiters really engaged with the children

We also had a few meals In Annette's one was good the other ok

Steakhouse in the village was also good but very slow service

Really recommend booking well in advance if you would prefer to avoid the 9 o'clock slots

The vouchers are all the same and not dated so you can use when you want

Dlp guide website is excellent you can check all the menus in advance

Also recommend getting the dlp app as it will show you wait times for all the rides as a live feed, what rides will be closed during your stay etc

Whatdoesaturkeydo · 02/02/2017 20:59

If you do want to do princess pavilion it opens at 10 during magic hours my husband queued from 915 and I took the kids on some rides at 950 we joined him at the queue and 30 minutes later we met Aeriel - there's a magic mirror etc to play with when you get inside in the queue and other bits to see - it moves quite quickly as there are 2 rooms

Pootle40 · 02/02/2017 21:02

We loved Cafe. Mickey, Annette's and the one beside Pirates ride....think called Blue. They all took the meal vouchers. AVOID Walts it was awful and ridiculously overpriced. It was more expensive than a Michelin star restaurant but a million miles away in quality. We loved Restaurant des Stars for lunch.

The afternoon snack vouchers were well used for the lovely doughnuts!!!

Pootle40 · 02/02/2017 21:06

We loved Disneyland Paris but please be careful with Walts.......I'm not a fussy eater we dine in McDonalds and love it and we've spent £300 on a meal at Gordon Ramsey's but Walts was one of the worst and most expensive meals I've ever had. You pay a huge amount over and above the dinner voucher too.

CotswoldStrife · 02/02/2017 21:10

You should be able to use the voucher as at least part-payment for Auberge de Cendrillion - have you asked, or booked it separately?

Check the website (the current programme) for the Parade time.

The Princess Pavillion is just queuing now, no tickets. There should be a sign up at the entrance to let you know which Princess is inside - sometimes it changes in the afternoon.

The best thing is to look on the DLP website for the park guides. You can pick them up when you are there but can see them in advance there.

Swissgemma · 02/02/2017 21:17

We were just there... I would recommend the new vapiano near the cinema - 5eu kids pizza... big enough to share!

Floralnomad · 02/02/2017 21:19

Walts has always been overpriced and we've been going since the place opened . Unfortunately we now eat mainly at Planet Hollywood as I have a picky coeliac and that's the only restaurant at DLP or in the Village that I feel can guarantee a gluten free meal that's not a salad ! If you want a drink or afternoon tea the Fantasia cafe in the Disneyland Hotel is very lovely and extremely relaxing .

birdsdestiny · 02/02/2017 21:19

You must book. Cafe Mickey was lovely, we hadn't booked Blush so queues for an hour and we're a bit grumpy but still loved it. I didn't like Crushers coaster, just really uncomfortable, not scary. Loved tower of terror. Buzz lightyear ride is brilliant.

MummysMaison · 02/02/2017 21:36

We are there until 3rd march. French school holidays run until 7th march but I'm hoping it's not too busy as it's not the holidays for the Paris region of France! Enjoy! X

racheyc · 04/02/2017 13:55

I just wanted to come back and update. For lunch I have booked the lunch with the Princesses at the Cinderella Restaurant, Lunch with Mickey and Co at Café Mickey and Café Agrabah. Dinners I have booked Remy's, Plaza Gardens, and Annette's which you don't have to book. Hopefully I have done the right thing by booking everything, I wasn't sure about Plaza Gardens but the lady on the phone recommended it. I was very surprised that Agrabah wasn't open for dinner and Remy's last service was at 5pm, maybe it is the time of year we are going though so they don't need to stay open late, who knows. Anyway thank you very much for all your suggestions, can look forward to it now!

The best meal we had was at the rainforest place, food was amazing and wasn't too expensive. Have an amazing time!!

racheyc · 04/02/2017 14:03

Thank you! That isn't included in our meal plan but we are not sure if we have a voucher for dinner for the last day or not, as we leave at 6/7, so if not we will do one of the non Disney ones such as Rainforest, or Planet Hollywood x

OP posts:
Floralnomad · 04/02/2017 14:14

The studios close at 6/7 at this time of year so that explains why the last seating at Remy is 5 , not all the restaurants are open all the time in the main park , particularly during the quieter periods .

Whatdoesaturkeydo · 05/02/2017 09:17

You get a lunch and a dinner voucher for every night of your stay

For us this meant we stayed mon - fri (4 nights 5days) so had four sets of vouchers
We arrived on time for dinner on Monday so used our lunch voucher for Friday as we didn't any vouchers for this day
