Are Dorset or Devon good for holidays?

We went to Cornwall last year which was lovely but the drive was grim from London with dcs 5 and 1 so we thought about stopping in Dorset or Devon for our Summer holiday this year. Are they as good, or will we wish we'd driven the extra to Cornwall? Where should we look at? Or should we ditch both and go to Brittany (a favourite, but we've been quite recently) or Portugal (somewhere we have never been)? We are after a traditional seaside holiday with some day trips and good food, and not too boiling.

Although this blog is over a year old, with lockdowns hoping to start easing soon, I though some people might find this useful, I am a bit biased as I'm from Devon, but being a landscape photographer, I have visited most of it and Cornwall over the years..

Cornwall is great dont get me wrong, I love Cornwall, but Devon has some major gems, I would highly recommend a visit to Dartmoor and the South Hams, North Devon can be nice as well, Cornwall wise head to the heritage coast from St Agnes around to Penzance.

Dorset has a lot to explore on the coast around Durdles door and many great walks..

You can't loose with either choice, but I deffo would not miss, The South Hams or Dartmoor. These regions also offer amazing food and pubs to visit and dont get as busy as Cornwall

I have actually made some location guides and blog about places to see in the Southwest which you might find useful, have a look if your interested scoellphotography.co.uk/blogs/guides-and-locations
