Disney or Universal for a 13 year old boy and 9 year old girl

Hi,

So, Florida next August (still pondering though). I don't want to pay for both Disney and Universal as we have other plans but which one would a 13 year old boy and a 9 year old girl prefer?

My son hates Disney films and any sight of a Disney Princess and he's off! But, I know the magic of Disney would work with him if he was there (and his friends have been so he would go too).

We've never really encountered too many nasty queues fortunately - I guess it depends on the time of year. We tend to go in February half term and early summer holidays. A couple have had massive queues such as when HP first opened but many others generally less than 30 minutes.

Saying that we had express passes last time as stayed at Hard Rock. That meant no queue at all - infact me and dh found it a bit too intense doing so many rides so quickly lol! The express passes are so dear - we are getting a one day pass when we go in February and it's $89 per person for one day on top of the park tickets. Hence only doing one day and only getting the basic passes, so can only go in each ride with no queue once. TBH as going to do the express pass in both parks that day it'll be enough; second day we go we will focus on HP and then queue for others we want to repeat.

Definitely Universal. I took mine when they were 10 and 8, we did both, but Universal was their favourite. The space station is brilliant, so do go if you get a chance (I expected to be bored to tears but it was great).

Our queues for Harry Potter 4 hours, everything else 2 hours +. Would suggesting buying tickets arriving early as at 7 am straight on Harry Potter by 8.30 140minute queue. Complain if you queue a lot as got a number of front of the line passes. Rides are great but so expensive for fast passes. We paid £100 each for a 2 day pass the fast pas was £240. Nuts and totally overcrowded. As i said before give me cedar point or Alton towers any day.
