OK - I have £5000 worth of gift vouchers to use and thought I might see if I can book somewhere for the first week of the summer hols. Might have left it too late though.

So I'll be 6/7 months pregnant by then (if nothing goes wrong) and I'll have a 19 month old and a 5.5 yr old, but she can't walk properly yet so will be using the double buggy a lot with them still.

I always fancied Longleat Centre parcs becasue I was desperate to go to Longleat Safari Park but I've been there now. Would go back there though but not as desperate.

So, which bearing in bind the pregnancy and 2 kids, one with special needs, do you think might be the best bet?

TIA, TC x

I've been to longleat a few times (Without kids though!) It is fairly hilly and spread out although there is a land train to get you about. I wouldn't fancy pushing a pram never mind a double from one part to the other.

I've always been told that Sherwood forset is the flatest. There's still a few hills though.

Could you request accomoation close to the centre. I think you pay an extra £20.

Sheraz · 14/02/2007 10:31

Sherwood is flat and compact, but Longleat is so much prettier. As per previous you can ask for accomodation near the facilities. Longleat has a land train for getting around which is handier. The Whinfell forest one has the best accomodation and is fairly compact and nnot too hilly.

Ceolas · 14/02/2007 10:33

Never been to Longleat but can vouch for Sherwood being flat. If you have vouchers, I'd probably pay to be close to the centre.

MrsBadger · 14/02/2007 10:35

Longleat is the least flat of the lot - zero fun shoving buggies up those boardwalks.

Wherever you go, definitely get hold of a map and pick your villa when you book though.

isn't the suffolk one supposed to be the "nicest"?

mylittlestar · 14/02/2007 10:55

Yes I agree - Longleat very pretty but just too hilly!

Sherwood really good - but you would have to pay the extra for accomodation near the centre - if there's availability - as I found when we were in a cabin out in the woods the walking was too much!

We've just come back from a week in the Whinfell one in Cumbria (may be too far to drive for you?)
But we requested a lakeside lodge which was right in the centre of things, it wasn't too hilly and everything was close by. We had a great time!

At Elveden, if you are looking at a map of it, the south is all downhill from the centre.

If you can cycle, hire a bike buggy, great for two children and all the paraphenalia.

The medical centre insisted we use our car on site when I was 7 months pregnant. I'd only gone there to have my blood pressure checked!
I felt a bit of a fraud, but it was in December and freezing so gladly took them up on it.

sushikitty · 14/02/2007 12:07

Sherwood is my personal favourite, but the facilities are dispersed all around the forest, with some of them being quite a way from each other... with Eleveden they're all pretty much under one roof, so that might be best for you

Saturn74 · 14/02/2007 12:08

Sherwood gets my vote - we always try and get a villa near the main village area.

Chipstick · 14/02/2007 20:41

Longleat at 38wks pregnant nearly killed me! Whilst Longleat is my favourite village (been at least a dozen times) it is just so steep.

Been to Sherwood a few times and so much easier....and flatter!

Have fun X

Whizzz · 14/02/2007 20:43

We've only been to Elvedon - which was flat & easy to get around. Think thats the newer one too (as part of it got burnt down a while back !)
(Lucky you for the gift vouchers !!)

Read the OP and thought I would be going somewhere a bit better than CentreParcs with £5K. Sorry can't actually be helpful.
