Off to Blackpool on FRiday with neice,14, ds 6,4.and 14months.
Will have from about 11am on Friday..should we go to the Tower? Been looking on the website and there is no circus..will cost £25..or perhaps just go to the Sandcastle? Is it half term there yet? Staying at the BIg BLue..is Harry Ramsden's within walking distance or a pizza hut nearby??
Sorry lots of questions!! Could always go to the Sandcastel in the morning before PB opens at 11.30?? oh decisions..help me out..anyone?? thanks

zoo will be freezing - and the animals all hiding inside - some pens will be open so that you can see the animals inside. There is other stuff to do in the tower - but we have only ever been when the circus is on. Not sure I would pay £25 if the circus wasn't on. Never been to Sandcastle.

Thanks Jua...not best time of year to visit and everything is very expensive! Can justify their prices in Summer but February is a different matter!

We are member of the zoo and went lastweek and it was a complete waste of time as the animals are all hiding and the cafe was shut ,cafe may be open for half term but the rest still stands.

My dd likes the tower but it is a lot of money. The two youngest will also struggle atjungel jims which will cause much frusrtration and tears.

There is a pizza hut near the big blue, let me know what it is like in there , am curious, the restaurant is supposed to be good. Harry Ramsdens is under the tower so too far to walk from the big blue especially in this wind. The sandcastle has been done up and is fab according to the kids at school.

THe zoo is worth a visit in warmer weather though, has been much improved from a fewyears ago.

winniewoo · 13/02/2007 19:00

Thanks..twinset..anything else to do in the tower for the kids apart from jungle jims??
and did you mean you're keen to find out what the BB hotel is like..the restaurant?..might try there if you have heard it's good or did you mean pizza hut!?

We liked the ballroom as well.

We sat there having tea and cakes watching someone play the organ (one of those ones that disappears below the stage) and couples getting up to do old fashioned dancing. It was like being transported back to another era.

The walk of faith was quite amusing.
Some wag had painted the outline of a body on the roof of a building down below.

This was in October half term and there was a long queue for the lifts to get to the top.

You need to find Bubblerock - She lives in Blackpool & used to run a B&B, so she knows loads of places!

You could go to Thingamajigz? (No good for big niece though)

Or go to Preston instead and visit the National Football Museum (Goalstriker looks like fun)

Zoo has Bug Week on for halfterm.

Sandcastle would prob suit everybody best (re-opened last year after a major overhaul)

THanks everyone and to you JanH..great ideas.

DD loves thingamagiz we go quite often but it will be very loud and busy, it is quite out of the way but the little ones will love it. Cafe is ok as well, the big niece will hate it but she may be ok witha magazine and a drink for an hour or so. Good all weather back up.

If the park cafe is open that does really nice food, in the summer that is our regular weekend treat.

I do like the tower but didn't realise it was that much. DD loves to sit with a cream tea watching the dancers and she loves the trip up the tower and the walk of fear.

We love farmer parrs and if you go on the right day the kids can do pottery. The kids can see some of the animals in the barn so again not to bad in colder weather and dd is fascinated by the museum in there.
