Should I book a flight seat for extra luggage allowance for infant?

Going to Italy with easyjet beginning of June.Previously with dd always took her own car seat as not sure if rental ones guaranteed or kept in decent condition ; also took travel cot, nappies etc. - basically the works (not a relaxed mum).

Ds will be 10 months at time of travel and we are only allowed one bag per paying traveller i.e. 3.Just wondering if I am being totally mad to contemplate paying the extra for a seat and therefore extra luggage allowance for ds.Don't fancy panicking the week before trying to decide what to leave but the extra money involved is making me think twice.

Any advice/tips?

I think most airlines are fairly flexible when you are travelling with a child. I am pretty sure that Car seats aren't taken as part of your baggage allowance - check with Easyjet.

I have been to Spain with two under two and didn't need an extra seat. I didn't take many clothes for me though. I did take an infant carrier, a buggy, a baby sling.

Not sure but in Spain they do Pampers nappies under Dodot name - so that lightened our load as well. They are exactly the same. Formula was more difficult as the european equivalent wasn't the same. I rang the hotlines they have on the side of the packs to help me.

What else might you take?

Surely ds will be a ticketed passenger. I would check with the airline and plan accordingly.
