Has anyone been? Not bothered about the temperatures just whether everything is still open? Have found some info, but it's a few years old, and seems to be saying many of the light displays and attractions shut down, and there is a lot of maintenance work going on, lots of the shows close etc...
To be honest we're not after seeing anything in particular, and a bit quieter than normal wouldn't bother us as high season isn't really our thing, but it would be a waste of money if the big attractions weren't there!

Also any family friendly hotel recommendations would be most welcome! TIA x

We've just returned from Vegas at the weekend, and stayed in NYNY.

If I were you OP, I'd stay MGM or NYNY. Whilst The Palazzo, Caesars, Bellagio etc are beautiful hotels, the location of them isn't that good when travelling with kids IMO.

We had 19yo DD with us and so weren't allowed to sit in the casino areas, or bars with her. Restaurants were ok but are very expensive in Vegas. Outside NYNY, and Monte Carlo next door, there are lots of tables and chairs scattered about which you can sit at and eat or have a drink. These areas were severely lacking at the other end of the strip, and if we'd stayed up there, it would've cost us a fortune!

We sat every morning on 'Brooklyn Bridge' with a Starbucks coffee and croissant for breakfast. Great for people watching!

Also, Excalibur is close by and they have a fun dungeon downstairs which is good for kids - amusement arcade type games. The only other hotel which has something similar is Circus Circus AFAIK. And that's a bit out of the way.

Get a plane to the grand canyon. I did the coach as the air trips were booked up. Ten hours of desert is a long time!!!
