We are off to NY in October. Debate on whether to go on a normal 8 hour flight or take Concorde. Has anyone taken children or babies on Concorde? Do you think it would affect a baby's ears?

My friend recently took her 12 wk baby on Concorde and had no problems at all.

If you decide on Concorde I'd willingly volunteer to be nanny in case of any problems - seriously though I'll email a friend who works in the aerospace industry to see if there's any known problems.

Friend has come back with this:

No (The issue often talked about is the increased effects of radiation at the higher altitude that s/sonic a/c fly at. When I flew in the cockpit of
Concorde the only time the radiation monitor - put in there at the unions'
insistenance in the 1970s - moved one jot was when we fle over the top of
Aldermaston)

And now this:

'Cabin pressure is lower than for a normal aircraft '

He's an aeronautical engineer and knows his stuff inside out.
