I mean, it's the same colour!

I see that they let you take the pram for free (GREAT). but i'm not sure if they are going to charge me extra for the car seat that i'm going to need driving round Ireland for a week...

any ideas?

I also see that i can't pool the allowance with my wife, and it has to be just two bags, and that it's cheap for a reason...

hey ho!

Can one of you take the car seat, the other the buggy?

We have bnever had problems pooling our luggage - we often just take one case between us, although there is normally an upper limit of the case.

We have taken car seat and buggy in the past with us and not been charged for either extra - including on cheap airlines.

You can get away with pooling with your wife but have to keep your 1 bag to 15 kilos, impossible for 2 adults and a child so 2 bags will be the only way really anyway! Bear in mind that you can take 10kilos each in the cabin with you providing it is in the corrrect size bag.

They wont let you take the car seat as part of the pram as they are mean and nasty like that!! If you are renting a car then you can rent a car seat with it and it is now v.cheap to do this because of the new car seat laws. So that may be worth looking in to. Hope this helps.

Ryan air are awkward buggers. I'm pretty sure that they'll charge for the car seat. Still, it might be worth paying so that you at least end up with a decent car seat whilst you're away. I think they charge £5 - £10 if you pre-book - check their website.
Also, as you said, they won't allow you to pool baggage allowance. That 15Kg limit is per person - they won't let you (as a couple) take, say one 20Kg bag and one 5Kg bag without charging excess.

well, we got away with the car seat as part of the buggy (it is!) and with both bags being a little over weight, especially with the extra teddies from great granny and aunties on the way back.

happy traveling all.

Are you aware of the fact that you have to pay for every piece of checked in baggage with Ryanair now? It's something like £5-£7 per piece if you book advance, double if you just turn up and have to check it in. Also, they seem to have stopped pre-boarding kids (you can now pay £2 for "priority boarding"). I flew with them to Ireland a couple of weeks ago and only priority boarding card holders got called first (because I booked about 6 months ago they issued me with priority boarding cards for myself and DD when I checked in online without luggage, but a few people with really small kids had to join the scrum). I would phone them and check the situation, they are dirt cheap but I find it a very stressful travelling experience with kids.
