Anyone fancy a house swap?

I was just thinking how great it would be to house swap with someone from Mumsnet...house would be all set up for children - we could swap tips for local restaurants/days trips etc...maybe just for a weekend. I have a 3 bed detached house (huge garden)in beatuiful South Bucks village...25 mind drive/train into central London, 10 mins Windsor. 30 mins Oxford etc.

Is there any official within UK house swap websites

Thanks Tinker, now I know why I am unaware of this televisual feast - usually on my way home from work at that time - I'll look out for any more series which might be shown later in the evening.

Tati, we are looking to buy a house in Chiswick - if you are seriously thinking about moving & want to avoid estate agents' fees, drop me a line!

We're here! We've arrived at our holiday houseswap in Cornwall. It took 4 hours to get here after getting on the road at 5.15am!

The house is wonderful. It is split level with the upstairs down and the downstairs up. There is a lovely balcony on two sides with a fabulous view down to the sea. The beach is a 5 minute walk down an incredibly steep slope so we've been taking the car!

It's lovely and clean and the beds are comfy. So we've got no complaints.

We've been to Looe, Seaton and Polperro so far and we're still deciding whether the children would enjoy the Eden Project.

Yesterday was a lovely sunny day but today it's not been so good. Polperro is so lovely, I've had fish and chips and clotted cream fudge today. The Weight Watchers will have to wait for my return. R

Rhiannon, you have online access at yout house swap?
Now that's impressive

WideWebWitch · 18/08/2002 10:35

Rhiannon, I was thinking the same, very impressive! Glad you're having a great time, hope the weather improves for you. Now, does anyone live somewhere sunny and want to swap with me (in Devon) for a week at half term? Online access here too!

WWW, have you thought of joining the NCT Houseswap Scheme? You don't need to be a member of NCT and it costs about 25GBP a year - surely the bargain holiday of the century!! We had a most enjoyable 2 week holiday in the Lake District through the scheme and the weather was prefect too. Contact NCT on 0870 444 8707.

There is a computer but it's got a plastic cover over it! So I think that means don't touch!

DH has brought a laptop with him so he can still work and can you believe he even phoned them at our house to ask if he could upgrade their Sky TV so that he could watch Arsenal today. How embarrassing!

We've been to Lostwithiel (sp?) today. All the shops were closed (typical) but we had a lovely pub lunch in a Which recommended pub. Then we came back via an art exhibition and bought 4 paintings. Watched Arsenal win and I'm going to sit on the balcony with an Archers.

For international houseswaps go to www.homelink.org.uk and click on visitors. You can view the whole site but obviously with no names and addresses. R
