DCs will be 7-7.5yrs and 3.5-4yrs depending if we go Easter or summer 2017., would go for 10,11 or 14nights. Fly from EMA, BHX or MAN.

Want great snorkelling, hotel geared up for kids - kids club, playground, pools etc.

Also want it to be naice. Thought about riviera maya - which hotel though? And where else can I try?

Thanks!

Been several times to Cuba during school summer holidays and weather has always been great. You see the odd lightshow at night, but that is generally it. This year we had the worst weather, but that was only 1 day where is rained in the morning and 1 day where it was overcast (gave us a break from the hot sun though). Have also been to Mexico in July and not a sight of a cloud. My sister has visited Maldives in summer and weather good (don't know if it depends where you go), she also did Malaysia in July last year (north) and had completely dry weather.

Cuba is fab fab fab - Varadero where all the AI places are (??? 'All hotels in Cuba are AI' not my experience at all but we stayed in Havana) didn't seem great though. Would 2nd Cozumel - we stayed at the Grand Occidental which was AI, at the end of the Island and was great for snorkelling and diving. If you hire a jeep there's nice beaches and a huge old Mayan site.

Was talking about the Cayo islands and most of the mainland being AI. Havana is the exception as it is a city. There wouldn't be anywhere to buy anything anywhere else on the island.
Varradero would not be my first choice in Cuba as I went a long time ago and thought it was a bit 'busy' then.

Agreed! Busy and very sterile.

We've been to Barbados and Riviera Maya - both in Summer. We preferred Barbados - it is a bit more relaxed/island vibe than Riviera Maya and we loved our hotel (Tamarind) - great kids club. Agree that you need to choose your resort carefully in Mexico - lots of Americans on Spring Break taking full advantage of the all inclusive drinks! The weather in both places was great but we went early - mid July and in the second week, you could tell the weather was on the turn. Barbados is much less of a hurricane risk than Mexico though . Maldives is superb but it isn't quite as geared up for children in terms of playgrounds, kids clubs and facilities etc. Amazing snorkelling but I don't think it quite fits your description and has high rainfall in the Summer.
