Croatia, euro or kuna?

Going to Zadar in Croatia next week and wondering whether to take euro or kuna or both, we usually put most things on c/card but will need cash for ice creams, coffees etc. Anyone been recently and have advice would be appreciated, thank you!

Take kunas definitely, many places like restaurants still don't take cards and those that do, don't always offer a good exchange rate.
Exchange rate for Euros in touristy places is between 7.25 - 7.30 kunas for 1 euro, so I'm sure you'd be much better off bringing kunas with you.

We went cycling in Croatia and took a shit load of kuna, it was extremely useful having lots of 20 kuna notes.

Kuna.

When I was there no where ever suggested that I pay in euros?

I'm going to Dubrovnik (arrive Friday leave Sunday) and one of the islands in 2 weeks. Are we agreed I'm better off buying Kunas before I go? And can anyone recommend a good place to buy them?
Thank you
