Can you take 2 clear plastic bags through security? One with toiletries & one with medication or does it all have to fit in one bag?

I just can't remember

& what about asthma inhalers? Do they go in a bag?

Think it is one bag with max 1 litre liquids in 100ml bottles unless you have a doc note. Having said that my best friend always gets through with two, but she's willing to pitch a fit and if necessary to abandon stuff. Bit of a stressful way to travel!

CMOTDibbler · 17/07/2016 20:53

If it is prescription medication, then you can take as much as you need (in pharmacy labelled containers) - just put it in the tray and declare it. All non prescription gels, liquids and creams must go in a 1L clear plastic bag which seals, one per person, no container greater than 100ml

Katymac · 17/07/2016 20:55

Is a 1L bag the same as a 8 inch by 8inch bag?

DD is travelling alone so we must get it right Grin

I'm stressing a bit - can you tell?

They are the 20 cm square ones - the small ziplock/self seal sandwich ones

Ginmakesitallok · 17/07/2016 21:41

The size of the bag doesn't matter? Why don't you check with the airline? Who is she flying with?

dementedpixie · 17/07/2016 21:48

The size of the bag does matter. It needs to be maximum 20x20cm and each container can be no larger than 100mls. It is one bag per person. We use small sized resealable freezer bags

No hold luggage

OK we are down to one bag 8 by 8 which appears to be the size with her inhalers just in her pocket to go on the tray & her tablets just packed in her bag

That should be fine (I hope)

I wish I was taking her to the airport as I would be on-site to fix problems - but DH is & he doesn't deal with changes/unexpected well

One bag. Liquids, gels and pastes. Read airline website.

AuditAngel · 27/07/2016 21:57

Apart from her inhalers, please remember that any aerosols also need to fit in the bag. I didn't realise that aerosols contain liquid (usually travel with hold luggage)

Katymac · 28/07/2016 08:08

She went & was fine thank you

She set off the metal detector with her underwire bra! but was fine Smile
