Hello, we're taking an extended honeymoon for a month next jan, and travelling to thailand and malaysia. We've been before but this time are taking our daughter who'll be 2 1/2 by then. Does anyone have any useful advice on family hotels in Kuala Lumpur or Langawi/penang and any advice in general would be appreciated. Or any resources. I can't seem to find anything except a few general family travel books.
thanks.

Hi Ruth
I took my 2 daughters to Thailand last year than aged 2 and 4 and they absolutely loved it. I would definitely advise you to take a night flight if poss because our kids slept nearly the whole way. I found some really good web sites, esp thailand4kids.com. The Thais love kids and don't be surprised if they stop you in the street and try to hug them...this happened to us a lot, we stayed in Bangkok and Phuket, both fantastic but don't bother with a pushchair, the pavements are too uneven, we took reins for the 2 year old and a wrist strap for the 4 year old. We're hoping to do Malaysia next yr so pass on any info!!
Have a fab time!
Karen

Thanks Karen, great to know - and we were thinking of taking a pushchair, hadn't thought of the pavements - what about airports tho? And didn't your 2 yr old get tired walking? I'll take a look on the website, any others would be great to have. How did you get on in city hotels? I find it hard unless you pay out for a suite or something - but you need a bit of adult space while they're asleep?
