Where can we holiday in the warm for a budget?

I know summer holidays are expensive to take the family away. I was wondering if anyone has gone on holiday on short haul flight to a sunny destination with a pool. Not worried about being near a beach. But we thinking of trying to sort this last minute for August. Can anyone help with info please?

I've got last minute bargains through teletext holidays in the past.

It took dh an entire day mind you and a lot of them have gone when you phone! There was an amazing one in Croatia which we just missed :(

I would absolutely not go to Turkey OP.

As someone has mentioned upthead terrorists have made specific threats to tourists in Turkey. In my mind it's too much of a risk.

Try the Thomson late deals website, this is only a 4 week window so you'll have to wait a bit for the end of August, but looking now will give you a flavour. We've done lots of Thomson packages including late deals and they've all been brilliant Grin

What about looking on holiday pirates? Friends of ours are always booking something cheap and hot with them?

OnyK · 10/07/2016 11:59

How about this?
Birmingham to Lanzarote Ryanair 8th Aug-14th Aug £631 hand luggage only
with pools on Holiday Lettings from £238 for 6 nights
Transfers to resort would be extra

OnyK · 10/07/2016 12:02

That should read 'apartments with pools'!

Gr8kids3 · 10/07/2016 12:37

Sounds good thank you for your help OnyK

Canary Islands may be with looking at too.

Seperate bookings are ok as long as the flight costs are cheaper - problem is this time of year they are not - best to book when the flights are released. You could have a look on the following sites which I have used before which will create a "package" style holiday for you

Lowcostholidays.com, travelrepublic, onthebeach

Also have a look at Olympic holidays and loveholidays.com which I have not used but always seem to do good package deals

Thank you for all the advice ladies

Go on to Skyscanner for flights. You can search to 'anywhere' and over the whole month (or specific dates if you prefer). Midweek-midweek will probably be cheapest. Sunday-Thursday or Friday will probably be better than Sat-Sat, etc.

Then go on airbnb for accommodation.

e.g. 10 minutes searching found 3-8 August, £127 each for flights = £507 total. Apartment with pool and near sea £592 www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/6803040?checkin=03-08-2016&checkout=08-08-2016&guests=4&s=WvFNyeY4 . Transfers from airport should be fairly cheap as not far, or car hire is usually cheap in majorca too. There are cheaper places to stay, especially if you can manage without a pool.

Makemineacabsauv · 16/07/2016 17:26

Found this 3 star apartment in Alcudia Majorca. Price may differ as I put in kids ages as 9 and 10 by accident. Your 16 year old will probably be classed as an adult. £1400 odd for 5 nights out of East Mids. m.travelrepublic.co.uk/holidays/options/0427dce1-f92e-4213-99e6-36fb5a166ff9
