Can anyone recommend a Lunch Venue in Islington? - close to Sadlers Wells

Off to see Swan Lake at Sadlers Wells for a Sunday matinee with a friend and our two 11 year olds. I know there's loads of restuarants down Upper Street, but with all that choice was just wondering if any one had any good experiences recently and could recommend somewhere?

There's a La Porcetta (Italian) in Roseberry Avenue that I haven't tried, but would imagine might suit your needs. Otherwise, perhaps take a look at anything in Exmouth market?

Yes I was also going to recommend Exmouth Market - don't what it is like on a Sunday though but I am still amused it has become so trendy - I used to work near Sadlers Wells and we often went to a greasy spoon/Italian in Exmouth Market for lunch.

Otto Lenge last Saturday morning was pretty good - on Upper Street near Aria

There used to be a lovely deli with pasta restaurant upstairs on a side street off the opposite side of Farringdon Road from Exmouth Market but can't for the life of me remember what it was called - keep meaning to go back.

Thanks - I've never been to Exmouth Market so it sounds like I need to take a stroll down there once we've found somewhere to park!

I think on the north side of Rosebery Avenue, many of the side streets have parking meters - don't know if it would be feasible to leave your car there for the length of time you need (used to tube it when i worked there so don't really know about parking...)

Browns is good if you have kids - at weekends they have a magician and stuff to entertain them. But probably two 11 year olds would find that beneath their dignity
