Cabin bag recommendations

A wheel came off my trusty cabin bag last week. I've had it for 20+ years and now I need to replace it I'm bewildered by all the choice and some of the extortionate prices! I will look in TK Maxx for any bargains but wondered if anyone has any recommendations for specific makes/models or new features that now they have them they wonder how they managed before.

I'm wondering if the 4-wheel spinner bags are that big a benefit on a cabin-sized bag? And a lot seem to have integrated locks - are they worth it versus using your own padlock? I fly every couple of months on FlyBe so need to find a bag that's max 55x35x20 but may also invest in a slightly bigger one unless I can find an expandable version 55 x 35 x (20+).

Just the cheap ones on ebay are fine. I think small cabin bag size ones dont necessarily need features or to be especially sturdy as they dont carry a lot. I think I spent about £15 on mine and its been fine

I've had one for years and it's survived been checked in too. It is designed so the frame goes round the outside and takes up lot less room than a lot of trolley bags.

I'd read that integrated padlocks are less secure than separate padlock and key. I got mine from studio.

You've probably got one by now, but I was just researching this and found the Tripp ones from Debenhams recommended by Which. They're currently half price in the sale this one.

Antler. Travelling is my job and it looks almost new after around 10 years of international travel. Also very lightweight. Hard shell.

DH has Samsonite, also travels a lot, fabric. Looks a mess.

Thanks for all the recommendations. I haven't replaced mine yet as still undecided. The Tripp bags look great, and a bargain with the current sale price, but they don't do one small enough for FlyBe sadly. And could only find a fabric Antler bag in the 55 35 20 size too.

Currently thinking my best bet is the Samsonite Spark but not quite feeling ready to part with £129 to get one!

I bought a brilliant bag recently, designed to fit cabin bag regulations. It's actually a back pack but the benefit it is doesn't lose space to wheels/handles and it is very light which maximises your weigh allowance. It's from cabinzero and was only £35 from Next (although you can also buy online elsewhere). I am really impressed with it - loads of space and comfortable to carry around.

I have Tripp one [[http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10701_10001_36536+T43880_-1]] as it is small enough for Flybe. I don't know how the capacity compares with the Samsonite one but I found it was greater than a lot of the cases with larger dimensions so didn't feel I was missing out by buying a smaller one. It's £45.

I second the 'World's Lightest' recommendation. It's good quality, a good price and very light (so you can get the most out of your weight allowance).

I've not checked the dimensions but it might be worth looking at the new Jurni from Trunki. I know it's being marketed at teens but I'm definitely not. I fly every week with work and I've just got one of these. Yay to having a case that's designed to be used as a seat!

Just found this one for £30! Beats paying £129 for the Samsonite!!
