didn't personally have a problem with pushchairs and on both times we went never came across any pushy horrible people everyone we met seemed really lovely!! look out for the "disney skip" all our children started doing it the minute we got there

swedishmum · 18/01/2007 22:41

"Proper restaurants" are much better value than crappy burger places. You can also get to the end of the day without eating rubbish. We were there last weekend and had lunch at Cinderella's castle. Fab waiter and pretty good value. Stay where I stayed - Marriott village - and enjoy great facilities in 2 bed house for £85 for 6. Queueing is still majorly crap - who would ever stand in line for 60 plus minutes??

Polgara2 · 19/01/2007 00:01

Echo most of sentiments. Fast passes definitely worth their weight in gold!! Peter Pan ride gets ridiculously busy so get FP for that. Same with Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. Be prepared to queue ridiculously long time for Lion King type shows BUT they are worth it! French definitely very rude and rubbish at queueing. But found characters in park to be a bit abrupt sometimes so your lo's need to be persistent and pushy!! Absolutely fantastic place for the children though, went in May and my two are STILL raving about it and asking when we go back??

MamaG · 19/01/2007 17:20

Zeph - you don't pay extra for lion king tickets, but you have to have a ticket (prob just for numbers)

zephyrcat · 21/01/2007 21:04

Do you buy fast passes from the park itself when you get there? Are they expensive? Do you buy one for the whole time you are there?

Got you So the best thing is to go round to every ride first thing and get a heap of tickets!!?

blossomhill · 21/01/2007 21:17

How exciting.

I leave tomorrow morning at 7am

Cannot believe the stress though of packing and checking we have everything we need.

Apparently 3 hrs on Euro so have had to make sure gameboy/ds are charged and that we have all clothes for all eventualities.

Tip ~ I got thermal vests and long johns in primark reduced from a fiver to a pound each

The website is fantastic. Have gone through all the rides with the kids as they have video clips and I doubt we will get to see everything.

There was me thinking we would get bored after day 3 lol

Have a fantastic time!!!!! We weren't going to tell dd where were going - just let her get off in the train and be in Disney but I gave in and we sat going through all the rides on the website last night... so excited!!!

blossomhill · 21/01/2007 21:30

It's great isn't it Zepher. One in a life time experience.
Apparently it will snow on Wednesday hence the thermals but everyone I have spoken to says you need them!
I will fill you in when I get back...

Fast passes are definitely the way to go! We went Buzz Ligtyear's Laser Blast first and used the fast pass then we made the mistake of going into Honey i Shrunk The Audience my DS aged 6 was petrified and I had to carry him out in hysterics not easy when everyone you are trying to climb over is reaching in fronyt of them to touch 3D bugs etc!!
The Pizza planet retaurant is great for a rainy spell although the food isn't up to much the play area is fab and my son loved it.

it can get a bit mad at autograph sessions and I would say book a character meal we went to afternoon tea at the plaza gardens and it was great. They tell you it's a sweet buffet ie just cakes but there are rolls and cold meats and cheeses too

If it's raining use the malls on either side of Main Street USA to walk up and down it will save you getting too wet.

|Tarzan show is Brilliant as is the Lion King one. Tarzan is very acrobatic lots of swinging on vines and jumping off trees.

have a great time

blossomhill · 21/01/2007 21:49

Thanks for the tips hullaballo.

I am hoping and praying as my dd has special needs we will get exit passes!

Honey i shrunk the audience has a section where a big snake seems to come out at you. It feels like mice run about your feet and you get wet when the dog sneezes! Also the floor moves which is no use when trying to take a terrified 6 year old out. Advice: if you think your child will be scared go to the seats by the door. these are on the opposite side to the the door you go in ie walk right to the end of the row of seats!

If your child has special needs you will want to go to City Hall in the own Square of Main SDtreet USA It's on the left. they will be able to give you any advice about getting onto rides and it's also where you make reservations for restaurants and character meals.
I bought a really useful book called the Brit's guide to Disneyland resort paris. i'll dig it out and if I come uip with anything else I'll let you know!. we were there in August

zephyrcat · 23/01/2007 14:02

Quick question re: money in the disney parks. does all money need to be on a visa card? ie I'm guessing they have no such thing as solo over there??!

LIZS · 23/01/2007 14:13

You can use Maestro debit cards - Uk was one of the last to introduce chip and pin !

zephyrcat · 23/01/2007 14:15

I also have a £10 bet on with dp - are there babysitters??!

Thanks Lizs- panic over!!
