We are after a special holiday this year - end July, beg August, dd 11, ds 12. We want direct flights only, luxury ideally all inclusive, fabulous beach with great snorkelling from the beach, water sports and loads of restaurant choice. Help!

I would look at the Caribbean - somewhere like Antigua / Barbados

VegasIsBest · 23/04/2016 17:08

Mexico. Amazing hotels.

motherofeve · 23/04/2016 17:17

Where's best - any resort recommendations?

Depends on your budget really

TK1930 · 23/04/2016 17:32

Barbados is lovely. Look on the tripadvisor forums & it's very hold friendly.
But the only thing is.. We travel at Easter usually... Summer is the Caribbean hurricane/ rainy season. Though lots of people still travel then
Good luck

Hold = child!!

monkeyfacegrace · 23/04/2016 17:34

I'd recommend Moon Palace Hotel in Mexico. It's nothing short of amazing. Trip advisor will back me up.

monkeyfacegrace · 23/04/2016 17:36

It has about 7 restaurants as part of the AI, dolphins on site, 4 large pools, right on the beachfront, I'm sure there is crazy golf, a FAB health spa and golf centre, crocs just wandering around Grin, and days out to Xel-Ha and Xcaret are unmissable.

eurochick · 23/04/2016 17:39

If you have a big budget the Maldives or Mauritius would fit the bill.

motherofeve · 23/04/2016 18:02

not being constrained at the moment ..... :-)

St Lucia.

There is 5 star resort that has fabulous water sports, can't recall name though, sorry...

If you're not against for human rights/snobbery...Dubai Wink

motherofeve · 23/04/2016 18:05

Was heading for Maldives but can;t fly direct at that time of year and DH won't do a flight with a change ........

Was also going to say St Lucia. We went last year and it was fabulous.

For unlimited watersports/activities Neilsons is great but not AI (most meals included). We went to Greece and it was a great holiday.

Playa del Carmen in Mexico. Masses of hotels that will fit the bill

PestoSwimissimos · 23/04/2016 18:15

Another vote for the Caribbean here. Just make sure you pick a resort on the West coast though if you want quiet seas for snorkelling. The Western sides tend to be rather windy & the sea is much choppier. Good if you want kite surfing or stuff like that though.

Forte village in sardnia has the food (Michelin starred restaurants, and even the buffet doles out ribeye steaks cooked to order) and it has the luxury, but not the best beach. It does however have the most amazing sports. There is a chelsea football academy (DH played a dads v coaches against torre andre flo) and a great rugby school (my kids got taught rugby by austin healey and will greenwood). All this happened while i floated around the spa (literally - they have this dead sea pool thing that was awesome)

BUT. Beach not great.

eurochick · 23/04/2016 18:47

Are you sure? BA and monarch usually fly direct.

motherofeve · 23/04/2016 18:47

How about the snorkelling folks ........

Snorkelling good in St Lucia, I hate deep water normally but got carried away.

Lizzylou · 23/04/2016 19:21

We looked at Forte village, looks amazing. Bit pricey for us at the time though.

BarbaraofSeville · 24/04/2016 12:17

Unless you have a really long transfer, it really isn't that much of a hassle to change planes. Or is he a nervous flyer and doesn't want the extra take off and landing?
