I need help, what is the best buggy for a 4 month old, the easies for traveling on a plane and train and i would perfer a rear facing one but just not sure how small they fold up ??

---------------------

Hello!

We've noticed this thread is quite old and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing out pushchairs and buggies. Read our latest reviews to see which is the best buggy to use when travelling.

Hope that helps! Flowers

how long will you be away for?

you cant really go wrong with a recline maclaren quest/techno/ryder.

you could go for a loola but they are heavey.

As your baby is 4 mths you must have a pram / pushchair already? Do you want to use the new one everyday or just for those trips to Ireland?

Generally lightweight buggies only face forward (I am thinking of micralite / quinny / maclaren etc)

giggly · 12/01/2007 23:00

Can you do without a buggy at the airport and use a carrier instead? then you could buy a good second hand buggy and keep it in Ireland for your trips home. That will depend on how much hanging about at the airport though. I use my Mamas and Papas pulse for flying they are about £70, forward facing though.

yes have a travel system from mothercare already but its very bulky and its not rear facing so want to change for a pushchair the quinny zapp is the kind of one i am looking for but it doesnt have good reviews for comfort, has anyone got one ??

the zapp doesnt rear face.

I think the loola is the most compact rear facing, but I personally have no experience of it.

If I were you I would get a good stroller for everyday use (if you want to replace your travel system) then get a cheapy umbrella fold for those plane journeys. If you want something suitable for both then you will have to either compromise on size or the rear facing aspect.

I thought Giggly had a good idea - keep a buggy in Ireland and travel with a back carrier / sling.

mamas and papas do the scoot which rear faces andit has nice big wheels, is like a pramette and weighs less thathe loola

MrsBadger · 14/01/2007 17:43

The Skoot's a good idea but only folds flat, not umbrella.

I posted this afternoon about a new Inglesina thing - the Otutto - which faces both ways and umbrella folds, but not many places have got it in yet.

Otutto looks perfect for what I want, thanks for this now i just need to find the money to buy it !!
