Anyone got any suggestions of what to do with a 2 year old boy in Edinburgh?

Its too cold for the Zoo and hes getting really bored having me push him round the shops all day..!

No Parks or anything, i know them all but i'm not the outdoors type in Winter!

Thanks x

Museum of child hood, I think it is still free.

Brass rubbing, not sure if you can still do this I used to take my two charges and annoy the frosty curators.

Soft paly place at Dynamic Earth , when we were there it was free, well we snuck i after seeing the cost of the rest of the place, but different now and cost £1.50.

Never been to Dynamic Earth, but from what I hear it is quite expensive, so perhaps you wouldn't want to spend all that for the limited use he might make of it.
Chambers street museum is free. Are you near a swimming pool? Goodness, I lived there for 15 years and I can't think of anywhere else!! I know that there is a book called "Edinburgh for the under 5s" which would give you loads of ideas.

We were shocked at the price too for Dynamic Earth, we had traveled all the way through so we went downstairs to have a nose in the shop and discovered the softplay, we didn't pay as they assumed you had been all round the place before going to the shop so we got a free play. It has changed now and you can get into the new softplay for £1.50 without paying to get into the main place. Sorry still a bit far without the car.

I used to take my two charges (2 &3) in to all the mad shops in Cockburn Street and the Grass Market, and wander up the royal mile exploring all the little closes and shops.

Toy department in Jenners is fun too, but favorite was always the Museum of Childhood they liked the macinse you put money in.
