...believe it not I am actually a Travel agent, but it is drilled into us to sell tickets at this end.

We are off to florida at easter but have just thought that as you get so much $'s for the £, is it worth waiting to but tix out there?

Any Florida supremos out there that can help???

charliecat · 29/12/2006 21:28

tallulah · 30/12/2006 10:01

We got ours out there and I'm sure it worked out cheaper.

gingermonkey · 30/12/2006 10:20

When we went we bought everything before we went but DHs mum n dad came too and got car hire, passes etc over there and they were cheaper. Can't remember how much though!

jabberwocky · 30/12/2006 10:48

I think sunchowder is in Florida. She might be able to help out.

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 11:21

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 11:38

Im getting made redundant from work, so using my redundancy money and holiday concessions to have one last good holiday.

nutcracker · 30/12/2006 11:42

Oh no, didn't know that.

Good for you though, thats exactly what i'd use it for too.

Hows uni ??

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 11:53

Have been off uni for what seems like ages, I broke up on the 15th after 5 weeks placement so have not actually been on campus since mid Nov. Go back on jan 8th, have an assignment to hand in on that date ( which needs to be done pronto!) then an exam the following week. Next placement starts on Feb 19th for 5 weeks, the time is flying by.

Have had to look for another PT job though, have got an application form for the BUPA care home on Aldridge rd for Bank care asst, hopefully that should come up for me. fingers crossed.
Does GH still have a bank agency do you know?

nutcracker · 30/12/2006 15:33

No, no problem at all, will speak to my mum later and ask her who or which dept you need to speak to.

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 15:55

LOL thanks

I am a bit nuts I know that, have just applied online to do fast track GCSE in Human Biology at SC.

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 16:21

oh good for you, how long is the course? when does it start? I love human biology, it fascinates me, its such an interesting subject to learn.

OP posts:
nutcracker · 30/12/2006 16:23

It starts in Jan and you take the exam in June.

I always liked Human Biology too and also thought that if I can do it and pass it if i then decide to apply to do the access course again, at least it might show that can actually stick at something.

You know the ECDL, what level do the NHS require you to do up to, can you remember ??

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 16:32

I dont know because i withdrew from the module once i knew that it was not required to get into uni, its only something that the NHS like you to do, and the NHS have so many millions to get everyone trained on it or something. Are you thinking of doing it?

Do you want that book back then????!!

OP posts:
nutcracker · 30/12/2006 16:37

See this is what I don't get. Sarah Allen said everyone had to do the ECDL as it was a requirement, but you are the second person to say you don't need it.

I was thinking of doing it yeah just so that I didn't have to do it as part of the access course. Was going to try and do it from home.

Don't worry about the book, i'll just get some gcse books to start with.

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 16:42

You do not need the ECDL to get into Uni, the NHS want everyone to have it by a certain year but they will actually train you on ECDL once you qualify and are working. Sara Allen says that because the college get a certain amount of money for each person who does the module.

I think that I have a GCSE biology book- dont but one yet, you can have this one if i can find it.

OP posts:
nutcracker · 30/12/2006 16:45

Oh ta, will wait and see if you find it then.

I don't mind doing the ECDL if I have to, but alot of it seems so boring and I'd be better having more time to suss out maths lol.

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 16:49

if it was me, i would not bother with the ECDL and concentrate on trying to crack my way through maths, which takes MORE brain power.

Are you doing maths aswwell then? what days are the lessons on?

OP posts:
nutcracker · 30/12/2006 16:54

Well I was going to apply to do fast track gcse maths but I don't think I am now. It is for 4 hours on a saturday morning which would be a pain regarding childcare and also my friend who did the access course was apparently told that the access maths is alot easier than gcse maths and you get more help.

The human biology is tuesday evenings 6-9pm.

What i meant was that if i did the ECDL now, i could then use the time meant for that on the access course, to do extra maths instead.

tiredemma · 30/12/2006 17:00

oh yes, I need to concentrate more. Good idea then because ECDL is boring but piss easy. Looking back now, access maths is easy and tbh, its impossible to fail because you do get lots of help. The access maths course work is really easy aswell, wheras the GCSE course work is hell.

Good for you, im sure you will enjoy it, something to focus on. Im sure it will be fairly easy for you.
