OK - just being uninspired, need some help please.

DD1 is 5 and has special needs and can't walk. DD2 is 1.

I suggested the local farm and DP said 'ohhhh anywhere but there' (most irritating of him).

So other than swimming and the science museum or the cinema or the aquarium - any more ideas?

We live in London.

TIA.

not very imaginative, but say a trip to Hamleys or Harrods toy department to test out some of the display toys

I wondered about the Museum of childhood actually, but wondered if it might be a bit ... well dull really, for a child. I'd love it but think that a 5 yr old wouldn't be bowled over by a dusty china faced doll in a glass cabinet. Am I wrong though, is there a lot more to it?

museum of childhood is fantastic. it's very very hands on, loads of stuff for the kids to do, including a sandpit. nice cafe too. i am going tomorrow!

No, it's lovely. Dolls houses to see and to play with (on the floor so sitting & shuffling would be perfect)puppet theatre to play with, dressing up clothes, a small sensory area with lights and soft cushions, books to look at (a really nice Miffy exhibition) two big rocking horses to ride on. We never get time to do everything we want to do. There is a lift if she can't manage stairs and there is usually a craft activity involving a lot of sticking at weekends. And it is all newly refurbished so nothing is dusty! But you will see all the toys of your childhood there, which is fascinating!
Discover is also fantastic. Lots to do even if you can't walk well, but a bit arse end of nowhere. Though I've been about '38 or is it 39 times, mummy' because it is ds's favourite place on earth. And he's as sendentary as any walking child ever could be. Easy, cheap parking nearby in the shopping centre.

(website for the Museum of Childhood), we've been to the Miffy exhibition when it was in Manchester, it was quite nice, kids could colour in/play with puppet theatres, and there was an area with a curtain and nice soft seating (Miffy's birtday party area) where the kids could have a sit/crawl etc.
