We are an American family who moved to London a few months ago. We will be here for 2 years and we want to travel as much as we can, with work schedules and two young DCs (ages 2 and 5). We spent the first few months just getting oriented and then went home for Christmas (MIL is very ill), and now we are finally trying to plan our first trip, a 4-day weekend over Easter. We are anxious to explore the UK but worried that it could still be cold and gray at that time. We'd like to go somewhere where the weather is likely to be at least pleasant and the atmosphere/activities at least reasonably child-friendly. We can drive, take the train, or fly. I won't say money is no object but DH has a generous expat package that leaves us with more disposable income than we've ever had at home, and for once we'd like to stay at nice hotels, eat at good restaurants, etc. (to the extent possible with little kids). Where should we go? Do we have any hope of getting reservations anywhere for Easter weekend?
Thanks for any suggestions!
