Like Eurocamp, but without the camping?!

I can't post this in camping really! We went to la garangeoire in France this year, and loved the whole kids club, activities, facilities on site, and self-catering but...as suspected we are not really tent or even static caravan lovers Grin

Our holidays with the kids (all young) prior to this had been in AI or HB hotels, or private villas. Is there anything in between?

Pierre et Vacances holiday villages? Similar to camp sites but with little apartments, I've not been though - considering it for next year.

Thanks- will have a look! Kids absolutely loved tumbling out of the caravan and making friends, we just found it quite cold and flimsy, and were yearning for a proper building with solid walls!

Look at the other companies like Eurocamp they often have a wide range of differnet accommodation, wood chalets, apartments, premium mobiles. Diswashers, heating or aircon are in some. The standard Eurocamp vans are tiny, we stayed in one for a couple of nights once with 2 kids and couldn't have coped with much longer. Our tents sre roomier. Ths year we stayed in a large good quality mobile with huge completely covered deck with large outdoor sofa and 8 person table. I am currently deciding between a wooden cabane on stilts, with dishwasher and heating. Or a massive 3 bed mobile, where the double room is in its own detached section with own bathroom and sitting area.

The last two don't have the same range but you could get much better value in high season. Eurocamp often seem to come out very expensive.

Agree Eurocamp are very expensive. If you look at the large campsites' own websites, they nearly all have chalets, bungalows etc which you can book directly with them. The only downside would be losing the Eurocamp kids' club. Most sites have their own club, but obviously wouldn't be in English.

Thanks both, I'll have a look. One of the things we really liked was the English kids club though. We've never used holiday clubs before, but for a couple of hours each morning it was great and the kids loved the activities (yet another judgeypants parenting issue that I've done a complete 180 on).

That's a great list pp! I'm looking for something similar in Germany so I'll work my way through those sites too

We're going to be spending half term in Holland with a company called roompot who have sites all over Europe. We're staying in a 3 bed house on a site with a lake indoor pool bowling alley etc
