TravelSnug - anyone used one?

We're off soon on a trip of a lifetime with a 3 year old and nearly 2 year old. Several long haul flights will be involved. Gulp. I'm pretty much terrified at the thought.

I spotted these the other day travelsnug.co.uk/ which look good but are pretty expensive! However, my amazing mum has said that she would get one for each of the kids for their Christmas and birthday presents if we want them. DH thinks they look a bit bulky and a pain to cart about and are a waste of money. But if anything helps them sleep on the plane, I think it would be worth it? And I wonder if they would use them as a comfort item as we travel around to different places.

So - has anyone ever used one and what did you think? Are they worth all that money for just a fleecy cushion?

Thanks!

They look like a total rip-off if you ask me, they are, literally, unbelievably expensive. Just take a pillow if you must take anything or those beanbag neck cushions. You will end up carrying them (as well as one or more child) and it will be a pain. The less stuff you have to cart around and lose the better in airports.

Airlines provide blankets & pillows anyway if you're flying long-haul ~ total waste of money.

In my experience a CARES harness is a lifesaver with small children on long haul flights. I think I'd be more inclined to look at those as they are CAA and FAA certified. They still aren't cheap but they pack up small. They give the children the comfort of a 4 point harness like they are used to.

I would just buy two new fleecy blankets for them so that they can snuggle up. You could also take two small pillows for them.

Thanks all, that seems a bit of a consensus! It does seem a crazy amount of money for not much. Shame my sewing skills aren't a bit better Smile

Wasn't sure about the neck cushions because they are still quite little and didn't know if they'd manage them or not? But think a little blanket and their own cushion might be useful, I've always found the airline pillows really small and annoying!
