Has anyone flown to Disney Land Paris??

Im going with my two children next August. Im trying to get sorted asap to keep the costs down as much as poss.

At the moment it looks like flights will be £330 for all us, return. Thats half the price of the Euro Star!

Any tips from other flyers? Is the Magic shuttle the best option when we land?

TIA :)

Where are you flying from? Have you considered other airports to get a cheaper fare? Also, not sure if you have already booked at Disney but if you are able to be flexible on dates it's often cheaper to fly midweek.

Not flying related but... A friend went this summer with her family and they booked a meal with the characters. She said it was well worth it as it can be hard to get close to them otherwise.

We flew out from Manchester and got the shuttle transfer at the other end - it was so easy Smile
(Apart from having to set off for the airport at 3 am for a 7.30 flight that is but that was the only hard bit!)

Have flown a couple of times, and organised a private pick-up (prestige shuttle) - definitely worth it!

Thanks everyone. We would probably fly from Heathrow. TBH I hadnt thought to look at flights from our nearer airports! I will do that now.

Thanks for the tip about booking the meal with the characters. We will be there in the summer hols so Im expecting it to be rammed!!

Also, has anyone done the day trip to Paris whilst there? Im hoping to do this to break up the disney mania a bit!! Is this worth booking through the Disney operators as well?

Quick update - Its £1500 more to fly from our closest airport (Bristol)!! I feel happier about booking a hotel the night before for £100 now and flying from Heathrow!!

Easy peazy to do a day in Paris, there's a train station at Disney where you can buy tickets. There also a tourist info kiosk at the station, though it's not always well staffed.

A day trip to Paris is easy and well worth doing, it's about 40 minutes from DLP and takes you straight there. As far as I can remember it cost us about €8 each for an adult return ticket. We just went to the station (which is right by the entrance) and sorted it ourselves.
I would prebook anything like character meals or shows tbh, it made things so much easier. Breakfast at Cafe Mickey was a great experience for the DC's!

Thank you. How do you book the meal with characters? I cant see anything about booking on the website? Is that something for when we arrive?

Getting quite excited now and I have 10 months to wait!!

Go to Trip Advisor and seek out the DLP forum - they are really good and up to date with what's going on.

When you get there, your first port of call should be City Hall, which is the main guest relations place. They will sort you out with restaurant reservations, and can advise at what times the characters are due to appear in each of the locations.

Ages of children? How long are you staying? Any favourite characters?

somersetsoul · 23/09/2015 20:47

Fab, thank you. My girls will be 6 and 8 when we go! We are there for 4 nights and 5 days. They dont really have favourite characters, I think they will be happy with seeing anything!

Im going to give them their passports for Christmas! I have DLP covers for them so will wait for the penny to drop!! Because Im on my own with them I like to plan with them! I cant wait to see their faces :)

You need to book your dinner reservations in advance or you risk them being full. Just phone 2 months beforehand. You can easily cancel if you change your mind. Inventions gets particularly busy.
