Has anyone taken their 2yo to Indonesia? What jabs / anti malarials did they need?

Going to pretty remote spots so I think we'll need the lot.

Thanks

Not sure I'd actually take a 2 year old to remote Indonesia unless visiting family. What does your GP recommend?

Flingingmelon · 17/09/2015 21:47

We are visiting family.

Hep A, Hep B, tetanus and Typhoid. Not sure if under 2's can have the typhoid one. It depends on where you are going really. Bali I'd do nothing. Deepest darkest Indonesia then take everything including yellow fever and malaria.

Where are you going to and when?

Is s/he in date with their routine vaccinations?

Normally I'd suggest diphtheria, tetanus, polio, (but children have that in their routine vaccs), hepatitis A, typhoid, hepatitis B, and depending where you're going Japanese encephalitis, rabies and antimalarials.

Indonesia isn't a risk for yellow fever.

Malarial risk is variable - it depends where you're going.

and DEET/coverups at all times against dengue and the other similar diseases for which there are no vaccines.
